The Air Fair is one of the longest running and best regarded airshows. Expect to see a wide variety of different aircraft types on display. Biggin Hill in Kent is a very famous fighter station and on November 2nd, 1939, one of its resident Squadrons claimed the first enemy aircraft of the war when it shot down a Dornier Do 17. Biggin Hill played a major role in the Battle of Britain during World War Two. The airshow usually has a good mix of historic aircraft and modern military jets. "Based at Biggin Hill Airport in Kent, Air Displays International established the now world famous Biggin Hill International Air Fair in 1963. Over the years the Air Fair has built a reputation for providing an excitement packed day out for both aviation enthusiasts and the general public alike. In addition to featuring air show favourites such as the Red Arrows the organisers strive to bring something new to each year's show. The main theme of the show will be the celebration of the RAF's 90th anniversary. The Biggin Hill International Air Fair is not only one of the most famous worldwide aviation events in existence but it is also the largest privately organised air show in Europe. Visitors in their hundreds-of-thousands flock to Biggin Hill Airport and former World War Two fighter station for the great mix of flying display participants and ground attractions, offering fun and entertainment for all the family.
