Velkommen til det officielle website for
    Flyvevåbnets store opvisningsarrangement

    Næste Airshow bliver holdt på
    Flyvestation Aalborg
    10. juni 2012

    SOF

The Royal Danish Air Force’s tasks extend far from the air transport (C-130J and CL-604) over Quick Reaction Alert (F-16) to Search and Rescue (EH-101 and AS-550). Demands for these tasks has increased through time and specially due to a transformation of the tasks if has been necessary to develope the use of our capacities. The tasks has become more complex and composition of various capacities are often a necessity to achieve a satisfactory result of the task.

Rhe Royal Danish Air Force units train intensely and with special forces from denmark and abroad.

100 YEARS OF DANISH MILITARY AVIATION

The military aviation in Denmark had a gentle start from when the Navy received its first aircraft „GLENTEN“ on March 25th 1912 untill the Hærens Flyvertropper (Army Air Corps) was established at Kløvermarken on July 2nd same year.

The formal foundation for the creation of (Army Air Corps appears in a letter dated July 2nd 1912 from the Danish War Department to the General Staff. The Army acquired at the same time its first aircraft, the B & S Mono Planet, named after the two designers, engineers Robert Berg and Louis Storm.

In the following years the military aviation in Denmark developed with Marine Flyvevæsen (Marine Air Service) on Margretheholm and Army Air Corps in Kløvermarken, on each location hangars and workshop facilities were build.
At the same time landing and hangar facilities were established close to the towns of Avedøre, Ringsted, Odense and Viborg.
